Jennifer is hosting an English Tea Party to celebrate the closing of Mac’s show and our win in The New Jersey Life Magazine ‘A List Readers Choice’ competition. Hartshorn Portraiture tied for best Gallery for 2009.

Mac’s show at The Art Gallery at the Stable in Ridgewood opened Oct 2nd. We were really proud to see his work in the lovely historic building. The show is open weekdays 9am-4pm

If your kids are featured in the show (you know who you are) and you are at the Tea Party we are offering a lucky dip raffle drawn at 1.30 pm for your family to win “One Free Family Portrait Sitting Each Year for the Next FIVE Years. *(talk to staff for details. Winner must be there to collect prize)

There will also be a door prize of a Holiday card mini-shoot. Bring along an interested friend and your name will go in the draw twice!

Linda Laymon, fashion stylist from All Dolled Up will be on hand to show pieces from leading New York designers and available to chat with you about the latest trends.

MSTKids, Mile Square Theatre’s theatre for youth program, kicks off with Kevin Kling’s stage adaptation of 2005 Caldecott Medal Winner Kevin Henkes’s popular children’s book Lilly’s Purple Plastic Purse, opening October 23 at the Monroe Theatrespace. A comical play about family, school, friendship, and forgiveness, Lilly’s Purple Plastic Purse is suited for kids of all ages and their families.
Lilly’s Purple Plastic Purse is directed by Mile Square Theatre’s Artistic Director Chris O’Connor who, as an actor, was part of the early development of this play at the Seattle Children’s Theatre. In the role of Lilly, the professional cast is headed by MST company member Blaire Brooks, who is well remembered for her comedic work in Scapin and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. While not gracing the MST stage, Blaire has worked in off-Broadway productions at Manhattan Theatre Club and The Public Theater, in commercials, and has appeared on Law & Order and the Guiding Light.
This production will also feature the work of Puppet Heap, a puppet design company residing at Monroe Center, who lists among its clients Walt Disney Co, Jim Henson Puppets, and the Sesame Workshop.
