April 2008 Monroe Center for Arts
Mac Hartshorn unveiled his Exhibition of large Giclee Canvas prints at the Monroe Centre for Arts recently. Titled ‘No Animals Were Harmed Here: The Trials and Tribulations of a Portrait Artist’ this was the first showing of some of Mac’s favorite works captured during the last four years.

All the images show babies or young children crying! Tears, crocodile or real encapsulate the essence of that moment in the photo shoot (or life) when the emotions of the smallest person in the room overtake all others. Time stops while the baby cries and mother soothes. Mac responds to the humor and beauty of these moments.

May : Franklin Lakes,NJ
Mid May and Mac’s exhibition moved to Franklin Lakes and the home of one of his favorite clients who hosted a cocktail party and one night exhibition to introduce Mac and Jennifer to families in Franklin Lakes.
The client was one of the rare mothers who purchased a crying baby image of her youngest child, so it was fitting that this exhibition be privately shown in her home. She saw the poignancy of that brief moment we can all relate too but may rather forget.

A permanent installation of Mac’s work “The Glorious Ages of Woman” is hanging at the newly completed and beautifully designed Women’s Health Centre run by Dr Joshua Weidman on Franklin Avenue, Franklin Lakes.
April 2008 Summit, NJ
Mac’s artwork adorned the gracious walls of another favorite client, whose home was included in a Summit House Tour recently. These framed works were the client’s own artworks Mac created from a Studio Session with the family earlier this year.
